And I learned I didn't like to walk down, so it was more fun to ski down those snowfields.
This is kind of like the ski mountaineering season.
Late April, sometimes into like June and July.
Normally you would see kind of a consistent blanket of snow, like most of the couloirs and gullies and things like that would be pretty filled in.
Like you could kind of ski from the car to your objective and back.
Normally, those brown areas that you see vertically going down the hill, they are covered in snow.
We legally can go hike up there and ski them June 1st.
That's not going to happen.
December, November, we didn't really get those big storm cycles where we kind of build that snowpack.
And now that we're finally getting consistent moisture, it's too late, it's too warm.
It hasn't really consolidated like we would like, unless we go really high.
Because we're not getting a freeze overnight.
Normally this time of year, you're on skis from the parking lot, skin, skin, skin, climb, climb, climb, ski all the way back.
And it's like, that was a super fun day.
I was in skis the whole time.
And now it's like, okay, I had to walk, and then I had to walk some more, and okay now we're at the top of our line, Now we're going to ski, and back to walking again.
Its a year I I hope to forget.
Long-term I have concerns about these consistently warm winters.
Were lucky in that we are not a solely ski-focused business.
Skiing is part of our programs, but is not the only thing we do.
It's nature.
You can't predict it, you can't control it.
I think if people are willing to go with the flow, they can find super fun things to do in the mountains.
It's just, you know, you got to you got to work sometimes.
I have some fellows that I've known for years and ladies, they're hardcore and they're still accessing those strips.
You have to understand how to whisper those zones to go to the snow you like.
It won't be as good as it normally is, but it you know, it's still fun.
Yeah!
Being in nature, you see things you've never seen before.
It's gratifying to be able to get there.
It's hard to explain how sometimes it makes me feel.
