Direct deposits on Tuesday, with payments by check set to start in April

If you woke up to a deposit in your bank account from the state of New Jersey Tuesday morning, you’re probably one of the early recipients of the state’s "Anchor" property-tax relief payments. Deposits started hitting accounts Tuesday for more than 800,000 New Jersey residents who signed up to receive their payment electronically. Paper checks will start going out in early April.
