One of the most unique traditions in Colorado is the Annual Burro Days. The last weekend in July brings hundreds of people to Fairplay, Colorado to watch the infamous llama and burro races. This event celebrates the role of the burro in early mining days. Runners guide their burros along a 30 mile race, reaching an elevation of 13,188 feet. Goers can enjoy gold panning, local art, food & more.
